ITINERARY

After a short drive from Hue City, you arrive at an ancient fishermen village situated by Tam Giang lagoon. Get the first insight into rural life and fishing culture. Put on your life vest and sit comfortably on a fisherman sampan to leisurely explore Tam Giang peaceful scenery.  The guide will tell you about the original lifestyle of local residents, once used to live on the houseboats like nomads. They were nicknamed "The fish tail chasers" and are very vulnerable to many threats of climate changes.

Continue riding amid the maze of the aquaculture system and keep your camera handy for some lovely shots. The fisherman turns off the engine and pushes the boat slowly with a long bamboo stick as you approach the V shaped fishing trap. This is a smart technique practiced in this area. You can try your luck to lift up one and see if it is a good catch of shrimp, crab, fishes. Traditional fishing with nets is equally exciting. Hang on the fisherman’s stilt house “Nhà Chồ” to enjoy a refreshing drink with a nice view. On a good weather day, stay late and hunt stunning sunsets.

Get on land and continue a leisurely walk to visit the village communal house, high tide aqua farm, rice field and farming lands. Learn more about daily life and local crafts. Enrich your experience by joining a local farm for a homey dinner with fresh veggie and seafood and enjoy it in a rustic setting.

End your meaningful travel with a sensational drive back to the hotel in the early evening.

Optional: In Spring and Summer months (March to August), it will be wonderful to drive one way to the lagoon on the back of the motorbike. You will take smaller roads, close up to many temples with beautiful
mosaic decorations, rural markets and rice fields. To be arranged on request.
